Word500 is a difficult word game in which clues indicate the number of correct letters but not which ones they are. It works in the same way that Wordle does, in that it tells you which letters are good, which are terrible, and which are in the wrong place. It only tells you HOW MANY and NOT WHERE they are.
Instructions for Playing Word500
You have only eight chances to figure out the hidden word. After each guess, the three colored tiles on the right (green, yellow, and red) will tell you how close you were to the secret word.
EXAMPLE
(STARE) is the first guess.
"STARE" has two letters from the secret word, but in reverse order. The secret word is missing three letters.
2nd Attempt (PRINT)
"PRINT" has one correct letter in the correct location, two correct letters in the erroneous position, and two letters that are not part of the hidden word.
The letter "_" cannot be used to make a word, however, it can be used to skip a letter when searching for the one after it. You can use the "Hint" button if you get stuck. Do you think you'll be able to refuse?
Word500 comes in three difficulty levels and eight different languages. The languages spoken are Catalan, English, French, Spanish, German, Dutch, Italian, and Portuguese. The secret word cannot contain letters that are repeated (such as ORDER) at the Standard level of difficulty (green smiley), and some letters are omitted.
Each language and difficulty level gets a new secret word every day. Each player will have six opportunities to select the correct word. This means that your first five guesses can help you figure out which letters are in the word and where they are. Enjoy!
